About the CSV Viewer

This free online CSV viewer renders any CSV, TSV, or delimited text file as a clean, sortable, searchable HTML table — no Excel, no upload, no account required. Files are parsed entirely in your browser using PapaParse, one of the fastest and most reliable CSV parsing libraries available. It correctly handles quoted fields, embedded commas, multi-line cell values, and BOM characters automatically.

For large files (over 10,000 rows or 5 MB), the viewer automatically paginates results to keep the browser responsive. You can sort any column by clicking its header, filter rows with the search box, and download only the currently visible rows as a new CSV file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The viewer auto-detects the delimiter by testing comma, semicolon, and tab on the first five rows and choosing the one that produces the most columns. You can also override this manually with the Delimiter dropdown. Tab-delimited TSV files are fully supported.
Yes. Files with up to tens of thousands of rows work fine. For files exceeding 10,000 rows or 5 MB, the tool automatically enables pagination (50 rows per page) and shows a warning. For extremely large files (hundreds of thousands of rows), a desktop tool like Excel or a command-line utility may be more appropriate.
Click any column header to sort ascending; click again to sort descending. A triangle indicator shows the current sort direction. Columns containing only numeric values are sorted numerically (so 10 sorts after 9, not after 1). Mixed columns fall back to lexicographic sorting.
Nothing is sent anywhere. All parsing, sorting, searching, and downloading happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your CSV data never leaves your device, so it is safe to use with confidential datasets, internal reports, or personally identifiable information.
The header row defines the number of columns. Any data row with fewer columns is padded with empty string values so the table renders cleanly. A yellow notice tells you how many rows were padded. Rows with more columns than the header are truncated to match the header width.
Yes. Click the "⬇ Download filtered" or "⬇ Export visible" button to download a CSV file containing only the rows currently visible after applying your search filter and sort order. The header row is always included. This is useful for quickly extracting a subset of data without any programming.
