Frequently Asked Questions
What video formats are supported?
The trimmer supports any video format your browser can play, including MP4 (H.264), WebM (VP8/VP9), MOV, OGG, and more. MP4 is the most widely supported format across all browsers.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens 100% in your browser using FFmpeg WebAssembly (ffmpeg.wasm). Your video never leaves your device. No data is sent to any server.
How precise is the trimming?
You can specify times down to millisecond precision (e.g., 1:23.456). The visual timeline handles also provide smooth, fine-grained control. Frame-accurate trimming depends on the video's keyframe interval.
What is the maximum video length I can trim?
There is no hard limit. Since the tool uses FFmpeg's stream copy mode (no re-encoding), trimming is extremely fast — even a 10-minute video processes in just a few seconds. For best results, we recommend files under 500MB.
Will trimming reduce video quality?
No! The video stream is copied directly without re-encoding (using FFmpeg's "stream copy" mode). This means zero quality loss — the output is bit-for-bit identical to the original video, just trimmed to the selected range.
Can I use the Quick Trim buttons?
Yes! Quick Trim buttons let you instantly select common ranges like "First 5s", "Last 10s", or "First 60s". This is perfect for quickly extracting the beginning or end of a video without manually setting times.
Can I trim audio along with the video?
Yes. The trimmer preserves the audio track within the selected time range. The exported video includes both video and audio for the trimmed segment.
