Frequently Asked Questions

What audio formats are supported?

The trimmer supports a wide range of audio formats including MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, M4A, and WebM audio. You can also choose the output format independently of the input format.

Is my audio uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens 100% in your browser using FFmpeg WebAssembly (ffmpeg.wasm). Your audio file never leaves your device. No data is sent to any server.

How precise is the trimming?

You can specify times down to millisecond precision (e.g., 1:23.456). The waveform handles also provide smooth, fine-grained visual control over the trim range.

Will trimming reduce audio quality?

When using "Same as Input" format, the audio stream is copied without re-encoding, preserving the original quality. When converting to a different format, re-encoding happens at high quality (320kbps MP3, 256kbps OGG).

What are fade in/out effects?

Fade in gradually increases the volume from silence at the beginning of the clip. Fade out gradually decreases the volume to silence at the end. This creates smooth transitions instead of abrupt starts or endings.

Is there a file size or duration limit?

There is no hard limit, but very long audio files (over 30 minutes) may take more time to process depending on your device. For best performance, we recommend files under 200MB.

Can I convert the audio format while trimming?

Yes! You can select a different output format (MP3, WAV, or OGG) regardless of the input format. The audio will be trimmed and converted in a single step.
